I am working on an art piece about love and was wondering if anyone out there has a favorite love poem or quote besides the obvious I Corinthians 13 and Song of Songs verses in the bible.  Here are a couple of my favorites:
The point of marriage is not to create a quick commonality by tearing down all boundaries; on the contrary, a good marriage is one in which each partner appoints the other to be the guardian of his solitude, and thus they show each other the greatest possible trust. A merging of two people is an impossibility, and where it seems to exist, it is a hemming-in, a mutual consent that robs one party or both parties of their fullest freedom and development. But once the realization is accepted that even between the closest people infinite distances exist, a marvelous living side-by-side can grow up for them, if they succeed in loving the expanse between them, which gives them the possibility of always seeing each other as a whole and before an immense sky. -Ranier Maria Rilke
i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart)
i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling) i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,
my true)and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the budand the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which growshigher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart ÂÂ
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)  ee cummings ÂÂ
